In recognition of the International Day of People with Disability, December 3rd, we are celebrating InteliCare employees Jy and James who joined the team via the Ability WA employment service program.

Ability WA employment services supports job seekers with disabilities obtain employment and sustain a fulfilling career.

Working in InteliCare’s assembly team, Jy and James build a core component of InteliCare’s smart home technology, the InteliHub. They both started with a trial period, but trials were cut short and we offered them employment as it quickly became obvious they were performing very well.

Additionally, both have participated in discovery projects, where they diagnose issues and produce solutions.

Jason Waller, InteliCare CEO and Managing Director, said:

“It was a rewarding experience partnering with Ability WA to significantly increase our in-house capability, while providing career pathways for people with disabilities. James and Jy are important members of the InteliCare team and it is great to see them grow professionally and personally. Their employment with InteliCare filled a real gap for the company. The reality is, their diagnosis is not a disadvantage, it’s a core strength in their roles because we needed staff with a strong work ethic on repetitive tasks and high attention to detail. I’d encourage all employers to explore this recruiting avenue.”

Alongside Ability WA, we are proud to support the International Day of People with Disability. Through employment solutions and innovative technology we will continue to challenge the perception of people with disability, while creating solutions which encourage independence.
