Australia’s aged care sector is set to buckle under the strain of the growing ageing population, InteliCare is offering a solution that allows seniors to avoid aged care and remain living independently and at home.

Stockhead spoke with InteliCare CEO, Jason Waller, to understand what’s in the future for Australia’s aged care and how InteliCare’s smart home monitoring uses the IoT (Internet of Things) and AI (Artificial Intelligence) to provide a system that can support aged care.

Waller has also mentioned how the industry is still having the “wrong conversation”.

“The main talking point at the Royal Commission is that we’ve been asleep at the wheel (to poor healthcare practices).”  “But the conversation we should be having is that the wheels have fallen off.”

Developed in partnership with the WA government, InteliCare is positioned to take advantage of the growing Baby Boomer generation by offering a solution that is scalable and useable by both private individuals and facilities monitoring multiple residents.

“Our technology allows for two things; first, carers can be more productive because they can manage a larger number of people at once. And secondly, they can provide a higher quality of care because they know more about overall behaviour patterns,”
